Purple Seattle Waterfront Wedding

With the iconic backdrop of the Seattle skyline, including The Space Needle and The Great Wheel, this Purple Seattle Waterfront Wedding celebrated the couples love not only for each other, but for their city itself.  With pre-wedding photos at the Pike Place Market & Post Alley and a reception game celebrating the Seattle Seahawks, it was hard to choose our favorite element of this Seattle-pride wedding.  The table photos in laser cut frames named for iconic Seattle locations leading guests to their table assignments is certainly one of them however! Savor these delightful images captured by Carol Harrold Photography of Erin & Brian’s special day.

From the Photographer: Erin and Brian have the best energy, with each other, and with everyone around them. They both had a real easy going way of planning this party, yet knew just what they wanted.

Family fun was high on the list, with very special dances with their parents, and joyous toasts by their siblings. They also wanted to have lots of fun with photos of their wedding party.

We shuttled on down to Pike Place Market and the waterfront, and played with all their props. The umbrellas kept the rain away until we got back to The Edgewater, which is lucky for April!

There was so much laughter out of both of them the entire day, including the ceremony. The guests were very entertained by the high energy introduction of the wedding party, the choreographed dances, the reception games and the conga line. My only regret is that we can’t do it all again this year!

Passport to Seattle Ferry Wedding

Filled with true Seattleite details (Scarves up Sounder Fans!), this Passport to Seattle Ferry Wedding held on the historic Skansonia ferry boat, included personal touches throughout. What we love most about this wedding is all the personal touches the creative bride and groom used to represent their story. Our favorite, being the customized passport designed by the groom himself. Enjoy the cheerful images captured by Carol Harrold Photography.

From the Bride: We wanted an extremely personal wedding for a large crowd. We LOVE our people and feel that those family and friends are life's true gifts. Matthew, as a graphic designer, created a personalized passport for each guest for our travel theme since it was on a ferry boat. In that, we had: a personal note to each guest, a personalized bio page for each guest, an adventure stamp book: drink stamp, dance stamp, photo booth, and eat stamp.  We also posted quotes all over the venue for humor. For cocktails, we offered beer and wine but also margarita's and hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps.  We had a photo booth set up next to the bar. Our favorite touch was that our wedding date was 3/14/15 which was pi day. It was the one day in a hundred years that ten digits of pi fell on that day: 3.141592653. So we did a pi toast with pie bites at 9:26 PM. It was a fun idea! We even had little flags with the value of pie placed into each pie bite. We aren't big math people, but it was a quirky, fun addition to our big day.

Hair and Makeup: We LOVED this salon (Salon Maison). They come on site to do hair and make up, which was relaxing. They focus on bridal and are very professional. Their costs were comparable to other higher end salons, like Gene Juarez, except they came to you.

Bridal Flowers: Metropolitan Market in Sandpoint - They did an absolutely beautiful job on my flowers. They looked perfect, had wonderful color and lasted a long time. They were really durable, too.

Wedding Photographer: Carol was absolutely amazing! First of all, she is super sweet and bubbly. She makes you feel comfortable upon first meeting her. She likes a plan and wants your input. She loves when you suggest ideas because she knows you will be happy. She has her own great ideas, too. The day of, she was outstanding. She came early and was very prepared. She knew our weather was iffy and planned to get going as soon as we were ready so that we could maximize on our time. We had a large wedding party (14 plus us) and a larger wedding (200). She shot with excitement all day long. She wanted to nail our suggested shots and had some great ones of her own. All the time, she wore a smile and talked so positively about the day. I'm sure she never sat down for a minute! She really was incredible. We loved how the photos turned out; however, just as importantly, we loved how comfortable she made us feel. Everyone at our wedding commented about how positive, patient and hard-working she was.

About the Venue: We picked the venue because: it had an AMAZING view, cool details, and the cost was very reasonable. It was one of the very few places that was: in Seattle, had an inside/outside option, could hold 210 guests, could have the reception and wedding in one location and had some options for parking. We LOVED the Skansonia.

Officiant: Tim Ledbetter was my first pastor growing up.

Cake: Whole Foods on Roosevelt and 65th: The cakes flavor was outstanding. We did three tiers and our top tier was gluten free. We got to pick six different flavors like chocolate, tiramisu, etc. People seemed to love it. It turned out exactly as we wanted.

DJ: Taylor Hanson was a friend of a friend. We LOVED him too! He did an amazing job and was very professional. He's fun and listens to what you want. He can play everything you want or just go with a certain style and do it himself. He has advanced gear if you want more detailed packages, but can also go low key.

Real Wedding - Washington Ferry Wedding

This navy, magenta and cream Washington Ferry Weddding from photographer Carol Harrold took place on Seattle's historic Virginia V,  once part of a large fleet of passenger and freight carrying ships linking the islands and ports of the Puget Sound.  This lovely evening dance party wedding cruise made the most of our beautiful Seattle skyline.

From the Photographer -
"Sarah and Austin were an absolute joy to work with, and so appreciative to all who helped make their wedding day come together. I loved working on the Virgina V because the Captain was like an art director! He had lots of ideas for photos that incorporated the boat. For instance, he has the bride and groom pull the whistle when departing, and returning to the dock. He also suggested the group shot on the bow and gave the couple captain hats to wear. He knows just how long the boat trip is and makes sure the party moves along at a good pace. So in that way, he was like a wedding coordinator as well!"

From the Bride -
How They Met: "Fortunately for us, a good friend of ours, Shannon, decided to play matchmaker and invited us both over for dinner for a double date. As cliché as it sounds, we both felt immediately that this was really special - like love at first sight. Almost 8 years later, we've spent almost every dinner after that together. I couldn't feel more blessed to have him in my life."

On their engagment: "Austin proposed to me on our 6th anniversary at Snoqualmie Falls.  It was a stunning PNW sunset - colorful and tree-lined and with the Falls in the background it really set the mood...and left us absolutely drenched from the spray! He told me how much he loved me and that I was his best friend and asked me to marry him right before taking a knee and producing my late mother's wedding ring. Obviously it was an enthusiastic and emotional yes!"
