Lilac Gray Wedding Inspiration

Today's wedding color inspiration continues our series highlighting the Pantone Spring 2016 colors and features Lilac Gray. Adding a distinctive edge to a classic gray shade, Lilac Gray, can be used as a neutral color or as your main hue. “As in most any season, the need for neutrals arises. Essentially a basic, the subtlety of the lilac undertone in Pantone 16-3905 Lilac Gray, adds a distinctive edge to this classic gray shade.” Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director, Pantone Color Institute.

Snorkel Blue Wedding Inspiration

Good morning Lovelies!  Today we're continuing our inspirational wedding color series featuring Pantone's Spring 2016 colors and highlighting their maritime-inspired blue color, Snorkel Blue. This blue elevates your traditional navy color through its vivid, more energetic and happier undertones. A truly versatile color, the hue pairs beautifully with wedding themes inspired by the sea to the bohemian bride and groom. We love this blue color as the primary focus color for a wedding as featured in the board below, but it also pairs perfectly with orange and yellow, making it a perfect pairing for Pantone's other Spring Colors Peach Echo and Buttercup. As Vincent Van Gogh said "There is no blue without yellow and without orange."

Peach Echo Wedding Inspiration

When the saying "pretty as a peach" came along we're positive they had Pantones Spring 2016 color Peach Echo in mind! This orange-family hue is sweet and sassy and works in our opinion, far beyond Spring. We're predicting we'll continue to see this color through Summer and even into Fall (just think of those pastel Cinderella pumpkins).

Buttercup Wedding Inspiration

Fresh off that yellow flower bridal bouquet insop board, we are still feeling that sunshine vibe! Here is a cheery inspiration board brought to you by Pantone Spring 2016's color - Buttercup! the third color in our Pantone Wedding Inspiration color series. We're equally in love with the idea of adding a burst of this joyful color to your wedding day by serving up some sweet Lemon French Macarons as we are with the idea of 'walking on sunshine' in those adorable yellow heels!

Limpet Shell Wedding Inspiration

Pantone's Spring 2016 refreshing aqua blue color, Limpet Shell, really sparks the eye and is our second color we're featuring in our Pantone Spring 2016 Wedding Inspiration color series. It gives such a dreamy feel to the vibe of the wedding. We love pairing this color with greens and soft pinks.

From Pantone: "Spring 2016: A Transporting and Transformative Canvas. Colors this season transcend cultural and gender norms. Vivid brights give way to excitement and optimism, though quiet stability prevails in this season’s palette.

Influenced by the world of art, new global doors opening and the desire to disconnect from technology and unwind, designers this season have gravitated toward a palette that is first and foremost calming. Paying homage to the beauty of natural resources, colors emerging in the Spring collections serve as vehicles that transport wearers to more tranquil, mindful environs which encourage relaxation first, followed by curiosity and exploration.

Designers were also inspired by the contrast of urban design and lush vegetation, leading to unexpected color combinations and collections reminiscent of architecture, travel and nostalgia. By creating looks that truly represent the world we live in, both constructed and organic, designers sought to awaken a sense of reflection, followed by playful escapism. Artists, many of whom are known for bold color usage and strong shapes and lines, played an influential role in this season's styles – from Matisse, Picasso and Frank Stella to Esther Stewart and Sam Falls. With Cuba and other destinations south of the border top of mind, designers are playing with courageous color statements that aren't afraid to be vibrant but at the same time are combined with quieting, classic and more natural tones.

'Colors this season transport us to a happier, sunnier place where we feel free to express a wittier version of our real selves,' said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. 'With our culture still surrounded by so much uncertainty, we are continuing to yearn for those softer shades that offer a sense of calm and relaxation'."
