Romantic Wedding Inspiration

"Isn't it romantic? Music in the night, a dream that can be heard Isn't it romantic? Moving shadows write the oldest magic word, I hear the breezes playing in the trees above While all the world is saying you were meant for love..." Ella Fitzgerald - Isn't It Romantic?

The sweet scent of roses strewn across an aisle way, flowy bridesmaids gowns that flit in the breeze, a canopy of trees twinkling with lights, and the epitome of femininity, romance, intimacy, and affection, displayed throughout your wedding reception through the use of velvet ribbons, plush pillows and petite roses. These are a few of the images that come to mind we when think of romantic wedding elements.

The perfect color component to a romantic wedding? Rose Quartz. Pair this blush pink with lush greens and dashes of gold and Cupid himself, won't be able to help himself from falling in love.

Hollywood Schoolhouse - Weddings in Woodinville 2016 Series

The fifth wedding venue in our 2016 Weddings in Woodinville recap series features The Hollywood Schoolhouse, as coordinated by Simply by Tamara Nicole.

Tamara Nicole, Simply by Tamara Nicole, transformed Woodinville's historic venue into an "Urban Modern Chic" wedding affair. As soon as guests stepped into the Hollywood Schoolhouse they were greated with some of the latest trends in wedding decor that pulled from interior design inspirations. Playing off of the clean look of the venue, and the lovely brick walls, Tamara and her team transformed the downstairs space into a modern "urban" organic backdrop. The decor combined whites & mother of pearl, black, greenery and copper (the new gold!), as well as rich textures in the linens, trailing greenery and drapery. As guests walked upstairs, they saw the same design elements and colors, while bringing it back a little in time to coordinate with the venue's nice vintage furniture, including a splash of the 2016 Pantone color of the year, Rose Quartz.

We already showcased the Colors of the Year, Rose Quartz & Serenity, so today we are sharing the other top 10 colors for men's and women's fashion for Spring 2016. From Pantone: "Spring 2016: A Transporting and Transformative Canvas. Colors this season transcend cultural and gender norms. Vivid brights give way to excitement and optimism, though quiet stability prevails in this season’s palette.

Influenced by the world of art, new global doors opening and the desire to disconnect from technology and unwind, designers this season have gravitated toward a palette that is first and foremost calming. Paying homage to the beauty of natural resources, colors emerging in the Spring collections serve as vehicles that transport wearers to more tranquil, mindful environs which encourage relaxation first, followed by curiosity and exploration.

Designers were also inspired by the contrast of urban design and lush vegetation, leading to unexpected color combinations and collections reminiscent of architecture, travel and nostalgia. By creating looks that truly represent the world we live in, both constructed and organic, designers sought to awaken a sense of reflection, followed by playful escapism. Artists, many of whom are known for bold color usage and strong shapes and lines, played an influential role in this season's styles – from Matisse, Picasso and Frank Stella to Esther Stewart and Sam Falls. With Cuba and other destinations south of the border top of mind, designers are playing with courageous color statements that aren't afraid to be vibrant but at the same time are combined with quieting, classic and more natural tones.

'Colors this season transport us to a happier, sunnier place where we feel free to express a wittier version of our real selves,' said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. 'With our culture still surrounded by so much uncertainty, we are continuing to yearn for those softer shades that offer a sense of calm and relaxation'."

The top ten colors for men's and women's fashion for Spring 2016 are:
  • PANTONE 13-1520 Rose Quartz -  a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure, and the first in the two colors named color of the year

Rose Quartz & Serenity - Pantone's 2016 Colors of the Year

Pantone has announced the 2016 Color of the Year and for the first time ever, have named not one, but two colors! Welcome Rose Quartz, a feminine rose pink, and Serenity, an apply named serene cool blue. If you've missed the soft, romantic, pastel colors these last few years with the bold Marsala and Radiant Orchid influenced palettes that has been dominating our fashion influences, then 2016 is the year for you!

"A symbolic color selection; a color snapshot of what we see taking place in our culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude. Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times." - Pantone

Rose Quartz ~ We love this soft pink and think it pairs perfectly with bits of silver or gold. Find this color in Cabbage Rose Shell Pink roses to Gosset Grand Rose NV Champagne and incorporate this sweet color throughout your wedding from your bridal bouquet to the toast of the happy couple. Stars including Jessica Biel, Reese Witherspoon and Anne Hathaway have all already walked down the isle in pink hues and we're seeing designers, such a David Tutera, Alberta Ferretti, and Vera Wang, fill their 2016 collections with the pastel hue. We foresee this rose color being paired with pops of metallics to modernize and glamify a wedding.

Serenity ~ Not only does this color make your "something blue" easy, it exudes feelings of serene calmness. Coordinate groomsmen in a linen suits of this blue for an outdoor summer wedding or with Viburnum berries in your bridesmaid bouquets during the winter season. Pair Serenity with greens, peaches and silver for a lovely pallet the works in all four seasons.
