Pastel Roche Harbor Resort Wedding

Roche Harbor Resort on the San Juan Islands was the perfect backdrop for this romantic vintage garden wedding from Event Success. The couple embraced the soft pastel colors of springtime in their bridal attire and floral color palette which emphasised the charm of this historic venue. Delight in the luscious photos from Clinton James Photography.

From the Planner~Jacky Grotle, Event Success: Hilary & Joel had the perfect day at Roche Harbor with the NW scenery as their backdrop. This resort has it ALL onsite.  Hillary & Joel had their Rehearsal Dinner on Shipwreck Beach, enjoyed the Spa (Afterglow) & stayed at one of the town homes on property.  They had a personalized wedding ceremony with Hilary's Grandfather Judge Walter McGovern marrying them and her Uncle Kurt Hohmeister played acoustical guitar on the newly remodeled lawn garden.  Then cocktail & hors d'oeuvres in the courtyard with dinner & dancing in the Pavilion. The Bride & Groom made HIS (peanut brittle) and HERS (lavender bags) for guest favors.  A tribute to their family was made with photos on the welcome table.  They had a vintage taxi for photos which added to their romantic, garden, vintage design.  They danced their first dance to "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole and it truly was and unforgettable weekend.

Simple Yet Elegant On The Beach Wedding

Embracing color inspiration from sea glass and the sea itself, this navy, mint and gold, Simple Yet Elegant On The Beach Wedding really inspired us, so much that this wedding is what we choose to use for our 2016 B&E Puget Sound Wedding Resource Guide cover! Beautifully captured by Momentous Image, get ready to drift away with inspiration from this Washington Island wedding.

From the Photographer: "Julia and Luke wanted to do something different. Whidbey Island is a special place to both of them so when they had the opportunity to get married on the waters edge in the backyard of a beautiful home there, it was their dream come true. They used the backyard overlooking the Puget Sound for the ceremony and dinner and wrapped up the evening with dancing inside the house.

By keeping the guest list intimate Julia and Luke were able to spend time with their guests. 'The wedding was the last party of the week so we really had time to enjoy our family and friends who had traveled great lengths to celebrate our marriage.' The result was that Julia and Luke have the most incredible memories from their wedding."

From the bride: “The wedding was such a special memory for Luke and I because we felt like we really got to be with the people that had put forth so much effort to be there for us. We were so thankful and loved getting to spend time with them, whether it was playing yard games, eating barbecue, or cutting it up on the dance floor. We loved getting married overlooking the bay and were honored to have the people who mean so much to us there for such an important day. It was simple (at least compared to most Texas weddings) and it was elegant. It was a lovely day. We truly didn’t want to leave. Our memories are so fond and we are so thankful for such a wonderful wedding.”

“Luke and I wanted to make our wedding special and different. I am from Texas and knew that weddings could get large and overdone. We had been up to Whidbey Island several times while we were dating and during our engagement. It became a very special place for us. When the opportunity to have our wedding at this wonderful home happened, we couldn’t pass it up.

Everyone started gathering on Whidbey Island the week before the wedding. We had so much fun with all of our friends and family and are so thankful to each and everyone of them that made the journey to come celebrate with us!”

"The bridesmaids wore different gowns in hues of blue. The groomsmen were in grey suits with navy bow ties. The groom wore a navy suit and a black bow tie. The colors were not overpowering but tied everything into the beach-theme well."

Real Wedding: Seattle Rooftop Wedding

Surrounded by waterways and mountains, this summer Seattle rooftop wedding features a blue, with pops of red, color palette.  We adore how the Stoneburner venue hosts an outdoor fireplace on their rooftop space, which this couple choose as their altar and how the bride's reception gown played up the red details of the day.

From the Photographer, The Dusty Lens Cap:
"Holly and I were so honored to capture this precious day for Michael & Cherry! The gorgeous weather allowed us to meet at multiple locations for the first look and wedding party photos and made the rooftop experience above Stoneburner even more magnificent for the ceremony! From the table settings to the balloon send-off, the details gave us delightful character to capture. Throughout the evening, the dance floor was packed and the photo booth was a big hit. As we laughed and cried along with this couple, their family, and friends, it was evident that we were celebrating a very special love story. We hope this was the first of our many Seattle adventures to come!"

An Outdoor Summer Winery Wedding at DeLille Cellars

This outdoor summer winery wedding from Event Success, paired three of our favorite elements not only in a wedding, but life - good wine and good food with great friends and family!  This wedding is also the perfect example of why you should attend a wedding show.  The couple found almost their entire wedding vendors through the show we are proud to be media sponsors for, Weddings in Woodinville.

From the Planner -
"Katherine & Dean attended Weddings in Woodinville 2013 and decided on DeLille Cellars for their July Wedding.  Katherine and Dean wanted a little help with their wedding and so they booked Event Success’s Wedding Week Coordination Package.  They went on to book 90% of their vendors that they met at the Weddings in Woodinville 2013 showcase!

After choosing the location of their fete, their primary objective was good food, good wine and a nice evening with good friends & family.  They had a lovely outdoor wedding and guitar music played.  The style was outdoor elegance with vintage touches like Katherine’s dress, hair & make-up.  They also had a vintage suitcase to collect wedding cards from guests. With 80 of their nearest and dearest, they had the perfect day!" - Jackie Grotle, Event Success

Rustic Elegance Wedding

This beautiful outdoor Woodinville Wine Country wedding held at JM Cellars, coordinated by Event Success, capitalized on the unique outdoor beauty and greenery of the park-like venue. A neutral color palette of white, cream, and blush colors were used to create this Rustic Elegance Wedding. A palette theme that works perfectly for a Spring, Summer or Fall wedding according to planner, Jacky Grotle. The ceremony arbor, made from wood branches, and accented with white flowers, including hydrangeas and lilies, showcase one of our favorite Spring and Summer outdoor wedding altar elements.

From the Planner -
"In the Pacific Northwest our evenings can cool off quite quickly, so beyond gathering around a fire pit or heaters I also advice my clients to consider the temperature and offer shawls or blankets for guests to stay warm in as the night progresses and cools off.  This couple also helped starve off the evening chill by serving up a late night snack of tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for their guests from Lisa Dupar Catering.

Working together, the bride and I created an elegant evening for the couples friends and family.  Further embracing the beauty of the outdoors, the couple created a guest book experience that stepped outside the traditional book and instead had their guests write notes and sign their names on black rocks.

From the Bride -
"We really wanted to make a memorable night for ourselves and our family. We wanted to create an atmosphere of fun and celebration. We wanted to have a good time. And from the feedback we've gotten from everyone it was a great party and an elegant, and classy wedding. We really enjoyed the night and have very fond memories of it.”

Real Wedding - Grey, White & Green

This wedding from the Taylor'd Events Group and photographed by Amelia Soper Photography embraced its modern venue, Novelty Hill-Januik Winery, with a fresh and clean palette of grey, white and green.  One of our favorite elements of this end of summer wedding was the iconic summer-time sparkler get-away send off.

From the planner, Jennifer Taylor of Taylor'd Events Group ~
"Sarah & Devin’s wedding at Novelty Hill-Januik was filled with personal details and lots of fun.  We worked with the couple for almost a year working on finding the perfect wedding professionals, and décor after meeting them through the wedding show Weddings in Woodinville.

The clean palette Sarah choose was a perfect combination for Novelty Hill.  Personal details of the couple were apart of the entire decor scheme.  The tables were numbered by wine bottles with picture labels of the bride and groom. The bride and groom had wood dolls in their likeness created for their cake topper, or in this case, in lieu of cake their mini desserts from Midori Bakery and macaroons from Lady Yum.  Adam Tiegs, of Adam’s DJ Service, kept the crowd going and helped them with a rousing shoe game."

The shoe game is a reception game that is always a true crowd pleaser.  The bride and groom sit with their backs towards one another and then exchange one shoe with each other. Then a series of questions are asked such as "Who is likely to kill the spider?" or "Who always replaces the toilet paper roll?". The couple each raises one of the shoes to represent themselves or their partner to answer, often with hilarious results.
